Electric actuators are commonly used field control equipment in long-distance natural gas pipelines. Their level of intelligence, the amount of information they contain, and their fault diagnosis and fault tolerance capabilities directly affect the reliability, stability, and ease of use of the data acquisition and monitoring system. In large stations, the number is large and scattered, and the use of ordinary hard wiring is numerous, which to some extent complicates the design of the station monitoring system.
Different valve electric actuator fieldbus control systems are basically the same in structure. They generally consist of a master control station, a communication loop, and field units (the body being the valve actuator).
During system operation, in addition to normal work, the loop cable is continuously scanned and queried to determine whether it is intact. If the communication loop is intact, the master control station will send control commands to the field unit through the loop cable according to the needs of process control, while receiving the working status information sent back by the field unit. Of course, all field units have been pre-set with addresses and are ready to receive commands and respond to queries at any time. Under normal circumstances, the master control station will send commands several times. Each time a command is sent, it must receive a response from the addressed field unit, otherwise, the electric actuator system will handle it as a loop fault. The response time of the field unit is determined by the number of field units and the loop distance.
